I understand it may sound cliched but I always had passion for software development. That has not been my only passion though; I had a productive career in other fields. But this site is dedicated to software. Therefore, I will call the rest of my endeavors “my other side“.

I started programming long time ago, before I could get my own computer. When I got access to computers, I learned by myself all the fancy stuff at that time such as Pascal, Basic, Forth, and Lisp. I used to code games in C++, dislike Java, make Web-sites, and fiddle with JavaScript. But after I finished college, my career as a researcher had enough challenges to seize all my available time leaving almost nothing for software development, which became my hobby. I was looking for every opportunity to do some coding, such as computer modeling, data analysis automation, and scripts for instruments. Yet, I could barely keep up with the development in the computer science.

Recently, I got more time available and I revive my passion for programming. I decided to learn the recent development in the software technology. I would have applied to a college again if did not feel awkward getting a Bachelor degree with a PhD already under my belt. Thus, I chose to learn things by myself thanks to all educational content available for free these days. You can read more about my progress on my “Education” page.
